First post of the year - my first day of upsr.

I arrived school as usual to find my pk and the teacher in charge were already at the canteen and the kids were already in two lines, waiting for the next instruction. They handed out their identification card, a set of stationary and a short briefing was later carried out by a bm teacher. Next was doa and off they went to the exam hall. That brief, tiada jiwa.

I felt emptiness in me immediately. I chuckled a bit, trying to be positive in the situation I didn't expect. And simply like that, the feeling of having the exam fever was felt through my vein. The view where the kids looked so anxious sitting in rows while we teachers handed their things including a bottle of yasin water each flashed before my eyes. And we had our parent gathered at the back of the hall with the look of hope. We had gb, all our pks, teachers who simply showed up and if the permitted, they would provide these kids words of encouragement. Even this tells everything. Then, the kids would meet their parents for the last time, back in line for doa and final salam with teachers on the way up to the hall. How beautiful the whole process was and I truly miss it. How I earn to have the similar atmosphere again.

And today marked a history that it's the first year of me cancelling my last evening class, and no night class take place either. Because of their attitude. That's okay, all I hope is Allah will guide them to do their very best. As much as I don't favour the class, I pray they would be able to do well and pass the paper. Not for me, but for them and their future.

Watched tv tonight like nothing is happening tomorrow.
